After disembarking from the plane in Kolkata, security personnel handed over Hafizul Rahman, the accused in the slapping of Hussain, to the police. He was later released.

Meanwhile, Hussain’s family members are worried as he has not reached Silchar in Assam. On Friday evening, they said that Hussain has not come home, nor has he called. Even his mobile phone is found switched off.

According to family sources, Hussain used to work in a hotel in Mumbai. He has returned home many times before via this same route. Yesterday morning, some relatives went to pick up Hussain from Silchar airport but did not find him there. Later, they recognized him after watching the viral video and tried to contact him on phone, but there was no response.

The family members also said that neither IndiGo nor the airport authorities could provide any information about Hussain. They also informed the CISF about the matter and filed a general diary (GD) regarding his disappearance at Udarband police station in Cachar.

IndiGo said in a statement that the passenger was caught by CISF and handed over to the police for creating a disturbance on the plane. Legal action is being taken against him.

However, the statement did not mention anything about Hussain who was slapped.
